Warrior

A soul
Dedicated, for so many lifetimes
To power, pain and chaos
Burning anguish
Unfathomable pain
Lifetime on lifetime
Solace only found in release of the blind rage
Always, the waves return to the shore
And what has been reaped
Is sown once more
Seemingly endless cycle
The Truth within
Sees the days and the years come and go
And the lifetimes
Some lessons learned
Others, a gift rejected
So long the warrior
Unwilling to be broken
Knowing only pain
He shares from his store
Lashing out
Mowing them down
Rage, flowing through him
But as before, as always
It doesn't stop the pain
Seemingly, nothing ever does
At times
The briefest glimpse of light
Because some see beneath the armor
To the pure, stunning soul within
Amazed by it's beauty, it's fire
They stand close, fiercely loyal
And want to walk along
Until the pain is too much for them
Because the battle
And the armor
Is all that has ever been constant
The only things to be counted on
In a world of pain
And so, those who would stand close
Are driven away
Either by the sword in it's  many forms
Or by the warrior's indifference
And so it continues
Seemingly unchanged
But those who SEE
Know what is within
And so they stand
At a safe distance
Ready to lend support
For they have come out the other side
And they respect each journey
Without judgement
